champ hughes The end of an era is now upon us as the most dominant UFC welterweight of all time has retired as of January 24th, 2013. That man is none other then former UFC welterweight champion and UFC Hall of Famer Matt Hughes (45-9). A man who once made a living slamming opponents into the canvas will now get paid to guide and build young new fighters. Hughes will trade the moniker of "champion" to UFC Vice President of Athlete Development and Government Relations.
