Conflict Fighting MMA

My last article covered a lot of the water cooler talk before UFC 157 where women’s MMA that night made a turn into the spotlight with the UFC women's bantamweight title fight between Ronda Rousey and Liz Carmouche. The arm bar seen around the world sent chills up my spine as I watched Ronda Rousey pull another win with her favorite submission. Remaining the UFC's first women’s bantamweight champion, she definitely proved herself at 10 seconds left in the first round in which she made Liz Carmouche tap out. This Olympic Judo Bronze medalist has submitted every opponent she has come across in MMA by arm bar in the first round and she did exactly what Liz said she would not do. But let us face it, Ronda Rousey is big in the UFC in part because of her Olympic reputation, but now that the door is opening more for women’s MMA where there is a lot of talent on the rise.
